An inner city Garden
West Footscray
A busy professional couple, who love being outdoors in nature, cycling and bush walking.
They are passionate about food and wanted to create a native garden with green space to relax in at the rear.
Before
After the removal of all Astro turf, it was discovered the land contained dreadful soil conditions which could not grow native plants and needed replacing. There were easements at the rear of the garden that could not planted/constructed over and a lot of concrete in the backyard (painted yellow) that was very hot in summer!
After
Front garden has been rewilded into a place that birds visit, with a place to have a picnic and looks beautiful when viewed from the inside
Backyard
The container garden provides ample space to grow herbs used for cooking and becomes a green oasis to rest in after a busy day.
